Enhancement in management board
Effective August 1st 2016 Dr. Marcus Söldner is appointed as new executive board member (Chief Sales Officer) of CG Car-Garantie Versicherungs-AG (CarGarantie). He will be responsible for Sales in Asia, CEE and Western Europe as well as for the Marketing and Product Controlling areas.
The extension of the management board portfolio results from the positive development and course of expansion of the company – especially in Asian countries. With a portfolio of 2.1 million warranty contracts and 234 million euro premium income in 2015, as well as 450 employees, CarGarantie is considered as an international key player in the warranty and customer loyalty sector of the automobile industry.
For the last four years, Dr. Söldner was President of Nissan Global Reinsurance, Ltd. and responsible for managing Nissan’s global Extended Warranty business with more than 500 million dollars in annual premiums.
He started his professional career in the Allianz Junior Executive Leadership Program and later managed their product development for private automobiles insurance. From 2003 to 2010, Dr. Söldner held several positions within the BMW group in the areas of financial services and global business development. During his assignment as General Manager of BMW Group in the USA he was responsible for the expansion of the customer insurance business in North America.
Dr. Söldner holds an MBA from Henley Management College in the United Kingdom as well as a doctorate in Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich.
Dr. Tim Veil, chairman of Finance & Administration, will continue to be responsible for the areas of Finance and Accounting, IT, Human Resources, ServiceCenter and CustomerCareCenter, Controlling and Reinsurance, Project and Process Management, Purchase and Facility Management.
The Chief Executive Officer, Axel Berger, will continue to hold the overall responsibility and also be responsible for Product Management, Legal Affairs, Claims Operations and Sales in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Furthermore, he will promote strategic international business areas for CarGarantie.
Clear target of the management board is to further expand the international market leadership.
